Portugal was voted Best European Tourist Destination for the third consecutive year by the World Travel Awards. Madeira received the award ceremony.
The Best European Tourist Destination award was first awarded to Portugal in 2017 and since then has always come to our country. In 2019, it competed with Austria, England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and Turkey.
But in 2019 Portugal received three more prizes than in 2018 out of a total of 39 prizes.
